Provost Chief Guest at White Coat Ceremony

Held at Gulf Medical University

 
The Gulf Medical University organized the “White Coat Ceremony 2011” at the Ajman University Campus, on the 22nd September, 2011. The ceremony was honored by the presence of the Chief Guest; Dr Wyatt R. Hume, Provost of the United Arab Emirates University, along with H.E. Sheikh Dr Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, of the Ruler’s Court Ajman.

The White Coat Ceremony is designed to symbolize the significance of a White Coat to a new cohort of students, illustrating their commitment to the healthcare profession and its responsibilities and obligations.

Dr Hume gave an inspiring and encouraging speech, emphasizing the importance of the White Coat Ceremony. He also urged the new students to embrace science as well as they could, to be able to evaluate, advance and utilize it to the extreme in serving mankind. He continued by saying that the students should be more oriented to caring for patients, families and the community.

H.E. Sheikh Dr Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuami together with Thumbay Modieen, Founder and President of the Gulf Medical University (GMU), presented a special memento to Dr Hume as a gesture of goodwill.
