UAEU congratulates 30th and 31st Graduation Cohorts
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, presided over the graduation ceremony of the 30th and 31st cohorts of United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) students, which was held in the new campus hall in Al Ain.
With great pride in their achievements, the ceremony honored a total number of 828 Bachelor and Master graduating students - 406 Bachelors and 46 Masters from the 30th cohort, and 422 Bachelors and 48 Masters from the 31st cohort.
The ceremony was graced by the attendance of Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Ajman Crown Prince; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Fujairah Crown Prince; Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Umm Al Quwain Crown Prince; Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ras Al Khaimah Crown Prince; Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region; Sheikh Nahayan bin Mabarak Al Nahayan, United Arab Emirates University Chancellor and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Sheikh Hazza bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Undersecretary of the Court of Abu Dhabi Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region; General Musabbah Rashid Al Fattan, Director of Dubai Ruler's Office; Lt. Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Dubai Director of Protocol and Hospitality; sheikhs, ministers and senior state civil and military officials in addition to parents of the graduating students.
The list of the graduates with Bachelor included students from Faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences, Science, Business and Economics, Food and Agriculture, Law, Engineering, Information Technology and Medicine and Health Sciences.
The list of Master graduates included students with Master of Environment Sciences, Engineering Management, Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Remote Sensing and GIS, and Business Administration.
The ceremony started with a speech delivered by H. H. Sheikh Nahayan bin Mabarak Al Nahayan UAEU Chancellor and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in which he expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the generous support of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the development of education in the country.
“The graduation of the two cohorts 30th and 31st of UAEU students is a symbol of pride for a renewable hope for the future of the country and a strong evidence for the success and reliability of the human capital development in the country and emphasizing on the important standing of this "Flagship University" in the development and progress of the homeland,” H. H. said.
His Highness greeted the attendees and thanked them for attending the annual graduation ceremony and said “The ceremony has become an important civilized event and we are proud and honoured with the attendance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, especially that the ceremony is held for the first time in the new campus which represents the country trust in the future of this developing university in serving the community and mankind everywhere.”
The minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research highlighted the fact that UAEU, which is 36 years old, is achieving its goals and maintaining its standing among the best universities worldwide while its graduates contribute in enriching all life aspects of the community.
On this occasion, H. H. Sheikh Nahayan bin Mabarak expressed his gratitude to H. H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, for his continuous support for the university, wishing and praying for Allah Almighty for the success of UAE under his wise leadership to maintain its good reputation all around the world.
H. H. also presented his gratefulness to H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and his brothers Members of Supreme Council and Rulers of the seven emirates for their trust, interest and keen on assuring UAEU mission and achievements.
H.H. concluded his speech expressing his pride of the support which the University receives from H. H. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and thanked him not only for his generous initiative of providing the new campus but also for his keen assistance to the UAEU in accomplishing its mission and fulfilling its responsibilities to support the comprehensive development locally and regionally.
Abdullah Khalfan Al Amimi, a graduating student from the Faculty of Business and Economics, delivered a speech on behalf of his graduate colleagues expressing the appreciation of his colleagues as well as himself to UAEU, which not only educated and prepared them but also provided them with modern tools and engraved the big trust and ambitions of the wise leadership which always present strong, real and unlimited support to their educational development.
Al Amimi on behalf of his graduate colleagues extended the highest expression of appreciation and loyalty to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President and his brothers Members of the Federal Supreme Council, Rulers of the Emirates and to H.H. General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces, President of Abu Dhabi Education Council in this important occasion which always reflects the importance and interest presented by our wise leadership to foster the joint national cohesion for our journey which is full of giving.
From his side, Dr. Abdullah Al Khanbashi, UAEU Vice Chancellor, extended his congratulations to H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President and the leader of educational and scientific development in the country for the graduation of the new cohort which represents an important element in national development.
Dr. Al Khanbashi indicated in his speech that the achievements of the education sector and higher education in particular describe the pioneer insight of our wise leadership and the future vision of the important standing of our country and nation in the era of science and knowledge, and which calls us all to undertake national responsibilities and individual commitments to work seriously and creatively in all fields.
Concluding the ceremony, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum took to the stage along with Sheikh Nahayan bin Mabarak Al Nahayan and Dr. Abdullah Al Khanbashi to distribute the certificates to 830 graduates from different specializations including Master holders. H.H. Sheikh Mohammed congratulated the graduates wishing them a promising future in serving the nation with their knowledge.
H.H. UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, after receiving the university memorial gift from H.H. Sheikh Nahayan bin Mabarak Al Nahayan, congratulated him for moving to the new campus which reflects the civilization, nation, home and vision of the wise leadership.
The total number of Bachelor and Master graduates for the two cohorts are 828 male students including 406 from 30th cohort where 46 students graduated from Master program while 422 students from 31st cohort including 48 Master students.
The list of the cohort 30th graduates with Bachelor included 56 students from College of Humanities and Social Sciences, 19 from Science, 101 from Business and Economics, 3 from Food and Agriculture, 49 from Law, 108 from Engineering, 11 from Information Technology and 13 from Medicine and Health Sciences.
The list of Master graduates from the 30th cohort included 4 students from Master of Environment Sciences, 13 from Master of Engineering Management, 3 from Master of Petroleum engineering, 1 student from Master of Chemical Engineering, 2 from Master of Civil Engineering, 1 from Mechanical Engineering, 3 from Master of Remote Sensing and GIS, and 19 from Master of Business Administration.
The list of the cohort 31st graduates with Bachelor included 54 students from College of Humanities and Social Sciences, 35 from Science, 114 from Business and Economics, 33 from Law, 14 from Food and Agriculture, 92 from Engineering, 23 from Information Technology and 9 from Medicine and Health Sciences.
The ceremony concluded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai receiving from H. E. Sheikh Nahayan bin Mabarak Al Nahayan, a gift from UAEU which represents the Union in its values and includes samples of sands from the different seven Emirates collected from its historical and traditional forts reflecting the spirit of the Union, filled and polished on a base with UAEU logo engraving inspired by national, historical and traditional heritage expressing past, present and the country development.
