The Program and Curriculum Office is charged by the Provost with assuring high standards of undergraduate academic programs, and designing and implementing effective policies and procedures to achieve this. The Office is responsible for ensuring compliance with these policies and procedures with respect to 1) the creation of new undergraduate academic programs or their component parts, 2) the modifications to established undergraduate academic programs or their component parts, and 3) the periodic external review of academic programs (graduate and undergraduate) and the regular internal assessment of their component parts. The implementation of these policies and procedures is also delegated, in part, to faculty members through the Undergraduate Program and Curriculum Committee, University Learning Outcomes Assessment Committee, the University Periodic Program Review Committee, or the General Education Committee, whose chairs are appointed by the Provost. The creation or modification of undergraduate academic programs is subject to approval of the College Council, the Undergraduate Program and Curriculum Committee, the Academic Council, and the University Council depending on the nature of the proposal as defined in the Signatory Authority.
The Program and Curriculum Office also manages the UAEU institution-wide, online, curriculum management system (CurricUNET).
