Event: The Flipped Classroom: Improving Interactive Instruction
Date: 18 Feb, 2016
Location: College of Medicine and Health Sciences
Patronage: Unit Director
A brief description of the event: Internationally, many medical educators are shifting to a flipped classroom. This involves students doing reading or other preparatory work such as watching a lecture on video before coming to class, and then spend Time: TBC in class working on an interactive activity related to the pre-accessed content. The flipped classroom therefore aims to actively engage learners and prompt them to take responsibility for own learning, construct meaning and apply concepts. This workshop will introduce faculty to the educational principles and practice of flipping their classrooms.
