The Chancellor officially inaugurated the new ‘cloud’
network, which provides an interactive learning
environment for UAEU students, in preparation for
the start of Fall 2010 classes for female students on
the state-of-the-art new campus.

UAEU Wins 73% of Grants Awarded by
Emirates Foundation
UAEU was awarded 41 grants out of the 56 given
by Emirates Foundation for continued research to
benefit the country, the value of grants being up to
AED200,000. Winners were required to train two
young Emirati Nationals.

Royal Society of Chemistry Accreditation
The UAEU became the first institution outside of
the UK to receive accreditation by the RSC for its
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, bringing further
recognition of the international standard of the
program.
September 2010
Faculty of Engineering obtains ABET
Accreditation
This international accreditation by the Engineering
Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board
for Engineering and Technology confirms the quality
of the UAE higher education system and the UAEU
in particular.
November 2010
Ten Year Partnership Signed Between
University of Cambridge and UAEU
His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh
and Chancellor of Cambridge University, and the
UAEU Chancellor signed an agreement for a 10 year
partnership between the University of Cambridge,
through the Judge Business School, and the United
Arab Emirates University.

Professor Andrew Hamilton, Vice-
Chancellor, University of Oxford
His Highness Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mubarak Al
Nahayanm Chancellor of UAE University, delivered
the keynote address and welcomed new faculty at
UAE University’s 2010/2011 Convocation on 10
October 2010. Professor Andrew Hamilton, Vice-
Chancellor, University of Cambridge was the guest
speaker.
