Within higher education, accreditation plays a major role in quality assurance and institutional
effectiveness. As the National Institution, United Arab Emirates University is licensed by the
UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and all of its degree programs are
recognized by the Ministry.
In addition to this, some programs offered at our Colleges have obtained optional specialized
accreditation from various international bodies, for instance:
The College of Science - CSC
The College of Engineering – ABET
The College of Education – CQAIE
The College of Business & Economics – AACSB
The College of Information Technology – ABET
The College of Food & Agriculture – AIC & ADA
The College of Medicine and Health Sciences – GMC (General Medical Council)
These additional accreditations are further evidence of the quality of the institution and its
academic programs.
