The College of Humanities and Social Sciences at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) organized its 3^rd Fine Arts Exhibition. This was held in the presence of Professor Saif Al Qaydi, Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Also in attendance were faculty, students and other interested parties. The Exhibition was held on Sunday, 16^th, November, 2014 at the College of Information Technology on the new campus.

Professor Saif Al Qaydi delivered a speech honoring the prize winners. “We can be proud of what we've seen in the exhibition. It shows the effective collaboration between the university, the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation and the Abu Dhabi Art Hub, which is all part of a strategic partnerships that enhances the wider community.

Professor Al Qaydi also highlighted the role of faculty members and students in the success of this artistic festival. There was a focus on national styles and the legacy of the UAE. There were three main categories: two-dimensional art, three-dimensional art and photography.

Dr. Mohammed Al Sadoun, Assistant Professor in the English Literature Department and the Coordinator of the Fine Arts Program, added that, “This exhibition is the third of a series of successful exhibitions held by the university to celebrate this kind of art. It includes paintings that express joy and meditation, reflect on the cultural renaissance of the UAE, and showcase the level of fine art in the country”.

Student Sarah Al Badi came first place in both the two-dimensional and three-dimensional art categories; Sarah Saif and Yasmin Majdi won the second and third prizes for the two-dimensional art category, while Hamdan Ibrahim and Mariam Al Shamsi were second and third respectively in the three-dimensional art category. Mohra Al Zaabi, Fatima Al Ahbabi and Maitha Al Badwawi came in the first three places for photography.
