The Advisory Board of the College of Science at the United Arab Emirates University plans to attract students and raise awareness of science

The Advisory Board of the College of Science at the United Arab Emirates University held a meeting on Monday, December 14th, 2015 to discuss how to attract students and market their programs over the next three years It was held on campus with Dr. Ahmed Murad, the dean of the College of Science, members of the advisory board and other academics in attendance.
Mr. Sultan Al-Hajji, chair of the advisory board and Vice President of Total E and P mentioned that the board was seeking information regarding employment opportunities for the college’s graduates in the coming three years (2016-2018). Government institutions and companies will be contacted to determine their needs in terms of graduate specifications in the following years. That way the college can determine the numbers and specific majors required by the labor market during these years. The board is also attempting to obtain grants from institutions and non-profit organizations to help to attract students to the College of Science.
Mr. Al-Hajji said that “Our plan seeks to raise awareness among school students, particularly high school students, of the importance of science as a major and also in terms of job opportunities through our awareness programs.”
