The College of Sciences and University College at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) organized a Physics orientation day to target students who have not chosen their major yet. It included an explanation of the career opportunities available through this discipline. The orientation was held in the College of Information Technology.

This introductory program aims at producing graduates in a variety of important subject areas. Dr. Fatima Tayer,

Director of the Academic Success Program, highlighted that this counseling program consisted of several introductory workshops covering various disciplines and career opportunities. She added that “this introductory program describes the teaching materials and the possible jobs that require this major to help students to make the correct choice of major based on a good understanding of this subject.”

The program included a scientific exhibition regarding the principles and applications of Physics. Dr. Illias Fernini, Associate Professor in the College of Sciences, showed a video about outer space in the Astronomy Dome. Also, Dr. Adel Hashish, Associate Professor in the College of Sciences, delivered a lecture on the importance of Physics and its applications. There was also a display regarding the working experience of former graduates from the Physics Department.
