UAEU Concludes the ‘Marhaba Alssaa’ Induction Program for Freshmen Students

The Student Activities Department, part of the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Enrollment Section’s remit, concluded its introductory and entertainment program, known as Marhaba Alssaa, for new students starting in the second semester of academic year 2014/2015. The program started on Sunday, January 25th, and continued until Wednesday, January 28th, 2015.
The program included a reception for students in residence, followed by an official
reception and exhibition describing the various colleges and other organizational
units. The two days included recreational activities and scientific, cultural, social,
heritage and sports events, as well as lectures and workshops on the rules and regulations
of university life. It concluded with a group dinner and closing ceremony.
Mrs. Khadija Al Naqbi, Head of the Student Affairs Deanship at UAEU, stated that these
activities and events serve as guidance on the one hand and also raise the morale
of new students and motivate them to learn and succeed at university on the other.
It also helps to promote effective communication with students, who are at the core
of the educational process. As well as providing students with the means to achieve
every success the program also encourages them to participate in student activities
that hone their skills and experiences, develop these skills and their personalities.
Mrs. Khadija Al Naqbi explained that the Student Affairs Deanship also welcomed the
parents of the students into the student residences and introduced them to the atmosphere
there as well as highlighting the provisions made to meet all the requirements of
the students pertaining to the privacy necessary for studying and learning.
