The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Sunday, January 11^th, in the crescent building on UAEU’s Al Ain campus. The memorandum aims to strengthen the cooperation between the two bodies in pursuance of the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 directive to diversify the economy in order to contribute positively to economic, social and research based issues that can serve the wider community.

His Excellency Dr. Ali Al Noaimi, Vice Chancellor of UAEU, affirmed the importance of strategic partnerships that help to develop community institutions and also open up new horizons for UAEU students. He stressed the university's commitment towards the country in various fields of national importance. Additionally, this helps to strengthen UAEU’s role as a leading academic and research institution working in partnership with other scientific and research institutions.

The Vice Chancellor added that the university will continue to support the business community through an increased awareness that can foster greater competitiveness in world markets, as well as by encouraging the development of skills and expertise in this critical sector. He also stated that UAEU supports the development of programs that meet the needs of the growing business sector in the UAE.

His Excellency Mohamed Saif Bin Hashel Al Khaili, Director of the Al Ain branch of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also affirmed the importance of the signing of a memorandum of understanding with UAEU. He stated that the chamber of commerce will cooperate fully in the areas of economic, financial and industrial consultations, as well as draw on the expertise of faculty members from the in the various colleges. Additionally, they will participate in and assist with scientific and economic conferences and specialized seminars; provide practical training sessions to students and citizens in different disciplines, and help to prepare them for employment opportunities in private sector companies and other institutions.
