The College of Law at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) received a delegation of judges, lawyers and legal academics from the University of Manchester and the British Irish Commercial Bar Association, on the morning of Tuesday 10^th March in the college building on campus.

This visit is part of a strategic partnerships that links UAEU with other institutions of higher education and scientific research. Dr. Mohammed Hassan, Dean of the College of Law, welcomed the visiting delegation and expressed his pleasure at their presence. This promotes research collaboration, joint programs and collaborative projects between the two institutions, as well as allowing for discussion of the latest laws, regulations and judicial decisions around the world. This is especially important in the fields of commercial arbitration and administrative justice, which has become increasingly important in the world in general, and in the UAE in particular, after the urban and commercial boom of recent years.

Judge David Kasmon, head of the visiting delegation, said that he looked forward to building bridges with UAEU as it is one of the most significant universities in the Middle East and has a good reputation in England. This visit marks the beginning of a new phase in legal terms, especially with regard to commercial law. He also stated that he was pleased to participate in the educational experience of the student educational court as you cannot separate the classroom experience form what is going on in the courts and law offices.
