The Career Planning & Placement Section of the Center for Career Placement & Alumni organized a lecture entitled “Make your career a reality”, on Tuesday, November 10^th, 2015, at the Theater of the College of Information Technology of UAE University.

The lecture was organized to spread the culture of continuous learning, according to the strategic values ​​system of the University to promote the wealth of knowledge for the community, by providing the university students with the necessary tools that contribute to their professional development in the future.

The lecture was delivered by Engineer Majid Bin Afif, Director General of the Emirates Dream Center for Training and Consulting, guided by the words of the late, His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who said "Building the human in the next phase is a national need that precedes the construction of factories and enterprises, because without the good human, we cannot achieve prosperity and goodness for the people".

The lecture saw significant interaction, since the number of attendees exceeded 317 students, who listened and learned about self- communication mechanisms through the concept of reality making, and how to succeed by focusing on their strengths rather than trying to repair their weaknesses, as focusing on the strengths makes the weaknesses fade by time, and positive thinking gives success before achieving it, but negative thinking throws the person into premature failure.

This message was explained through a tutorial video entitled (ZERO), a cartoon character, which won the international award in self-training and capacity building. It reflected the concept of change, and how to make a reality and meet the challenges and obstacles in life in a creative and fun manner through the educational system.

The strategies of making a reality were also explained, and an exercise was made to enhance the concept of self-empowerment through self-viewing from the inside to the outside of human, and the lecturer talked to the audience about how to use the scientific tools to build a Curriculum Vitae (CV).

At the end of the lecture, Engineer Magid Afif expressed his thanks and appreciation to the university students for their positive interaction and keenness on knowing how to make a career a reality.
