University students celebrate National Day with a procession and other heritage and artistic events

The United Arab Emirates University celebrates the 44th National Day
The United Arab Emirates University celebrated the UAE’s 44th National Day, on Sunday, November 29th, 2015 with events and activities organized by various student and administrative groups.
The events began with a procession where students carried national flags from the Student Activities Department Building. They were lead by the military band of the General Command of the Armed Forces and Directorate for Morale Guidance. They played anthems and songs to celebrate National Day and ending finished at the Crescent Building where they were received by Professor Mohamed Al Baili, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs; Dr. Ali Al Kaabi, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Enrollment, and Professor Faeqa Al Hilal, Secretary General of the university as well as by a number of administrators and faculty.
The events included an exhibition on national heritage by the Watani Al Emarat Club, the National Service and Reserve Authority of the General Command of the Armed Forces, Abdullah Bin Zubair School, Salama Bin Butti School and the Higher Colleges of Technology. They presented national lyrics, folk dances and traditional activities.
The Secretary General’s Unit also organized a celebration concert for private sector employees. This included a short movie, followed by a national competition. Finally, Professor Al Hilal, honored staff who were receiving an excellence award and also recognized those who were born on December 2nd the UAE’s national Day.
