The College of Business and Economics at the United Arab Emirates University, in cooperation with UAE Internal Auditing Association (IAA) and the official representative of the American Institute of Internal Auditing (IIA), presented a lecture about employment opportunities in the area of internal auditing, on Monday, October 11^th 2015, in the theatre of the College of Information Technology in Al Ain.

 

The aim of the lecture, organized by the Student Accounting Club, was to introduce students to internal auditing jobs and career opportunities by highlighting the increased demand for internal auditors. This demand has doubled recently due to a need in local government departments in the UAE. This profession is a prerequisite for competent governmental work. It is part of the role of UAEU to produce graduates with competency in areas of strategic importance to the country and to promote the dissemination of knowledge throughout society.

 

Mr. Abduqader Obaid, Chairman of the Internal Auditing Association, and Mr. Ayman El Saheb, Chief Audit Executive at the Higher Colleges of Technology, presented the lecture where they gave a range of advice and guidance on training programs and professional examinations, as well as mentioning the support provided by the association for students seeking a career in internal auditing.
