He pointed out that the exhibition provides a great opportunity to see the latest in modern technology and affords attendees the opportunity to benefit from diverse experiences in the fields of informatics and communications. Also, it allows the government, and other bodies such as UAEU, to make agreements and form strategic partnerships to serve the country and to implement smart government.

His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan also said that the exhibition has succeeded, ever since its inception, in strengthening the position of the UAE on the global technology map. It has become one of the leading international exhibitions on regional and international levels and has established its importance by increasing investment opportunities for companies and investors in this sector. GITEX also provides local and regional institutions (both private and governmental) with the latest in the world of technology. This international exhibition has become a continued success as it is an umbrella under which global and regional companies meet to display the latest technology and to strengthen their positions in the Middle East and Africa.

His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak said that the United Arab Emirates University’s participation in this exhibition is part of the university's strategic plan, which includes disseminating knowledge and skills throughout the community; supporting innovation in teaching and learning and keeping pace with the rapid developments in telecommunications and information technology.
