The College of Science at the United Arab Emirates University Introduces a Teaching Assistant Program for National Students

The College of Science at the United Arab Emirates University introduced the Teaching Assistant Program on Thursday, February 25th, 2016 in the College of Information Technology. Dr. Ahmed Murad, Dean of the College of Science, and several heads of academic departments in the college were present to introduce students to the program and how to apply.
During his presentation Dr. Murad encouraged students to join the program as it provides opportunities for able students to finish their higher education and work in academic fields. Dr. Asma Menhali, Director of the Teaching Assistants Office and the National Faculty Support Program, explained that the program (the Development Program) which train national teaching staff in order to develop their professional skills. They will attend workshops, courses and conferences. She also talked about professors at UAEU, and elsewhere, who had previously taken part in the program.
A student wishing to enroll must have a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with an overall GPA of at least 3 in their major subjects. After gaining a Master's or a Doctorate degree students can expect to be appointed as a faculty member (assistant professor level).
The various college departments briefed students on the Teaching Assistant Program in order to persuade them to join the College of Science.
