UAEU welcomes 370 students for semester two

 

The United Arab Emirates University welcomed 370 new students for the second semester of academic year 2015-2016 on Tuesday January 12^th in the great hall in the UAEU crescent building. His Excellency Dr. Ali Rashid Al Noaimi, Vice Chancellor of UAEU, the deputy vice chancellors, parents and representatives of various colleges and departments were present.

Dr. Al Noaimi conveyed the greetings of His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and chancellor of UAEU to the students. He wished them every success in their studies.

Dr. Al Noaimi said that, “joining UAEU was an opportunity to improve skills, display energy and build a future. We are confident that you can all support the development of the UAE.”

He stressed the role played by the university in the development in the UAE. It does so by graduating well-qualified students and through its status as a prestigious academic institution which is recognized regionally and globally.

He praised the leadership of faculty who empower graduates by preparing them for the labor market. The university is keen to promote leadership and attract experts and academics to contribute to the education of the students.

He added that, “UAEU is a national institution that provides excellent graduates who contribute towards a bright future for the UAE. You should invest your time and energy to build that future and live up to the standards expected by the university.”

This was part of the induction program (Marhaba Alssaa) which familiarizes and integrates new students into university life. They do so through sports and other events hosted by the student affairs section. Additionally, there was an exhibition about the various programs and activities at the university.
