Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), the producer of QS World University Rankings announced the QS University Rankings: Arab Region 2016, where the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) has ranked first among all UAE universities, and sixth among the Arab universities.

Obtaining this advanced global ranking is a new quantum leap for UAEU and testament to the quality of education it provides. QS assessment is based on strict standards and they pay particular attention to the accuracy of their system.

This ranking aims to highlight the excellence of educational institutions, and it is recognized as one of the most important international rankings. The set of criteria they follow includes: academic reputation, employer reputation, research and productivity indicators, percentage of faculty members with distinguished qualifications, ratio of teachers to students, and the percentage of professors and international students attracted by the university.

This ranking was based on surveys carried out by about three hundred Arab universities, the views of thousands of academics and business owners, and research indicators.

Dr. Ali Al-Nuaimi, UAEU Vice Chancellor, said “this achievement could not have been realized without the unlimited support of our wise leadership to the University.” He further stressed that the United Arab Emirates University has always sought to maintain its position among the best universities in all global university rankings, which is evidence of the global standards adopted by the University in its quest for excellence and leadership.

Obtaining this advanced ranking is considered a new addition to the achievements of the University, and a true translation of the improved performance and strategy of the university in recent years, which has also resulted in the University receiving the international institutional accreditation from the Association of American Universities ‘WASC Senior College and University Commission’. The University is also proud of most of its colleges and programs for obtaining international academic accreditation from the largest specialized international academic bodies, as a testament to the quality of their programs.

The United Arab Emirates University takes pride in its academic journey and excellence received at the world university rankings, and is planning to double its efforts to continue to improve its performance, and prepare competent and creative graduates, distinguished in their majors, and leaders in their workplaces.
