The United Arab Emirates University volleyball team won the League Cup in the Abu Dhabi Inter-University Volleyball League’s final game on Wednesday 16^th March 2016. Members of the Student Activities Department, the Sports Activities Unit and students from both universities were in attendance.

The UAEU team retained the title for the second consecutive year by defeating the Sorbonne University (Abu Dhabi) team in a high quality match. They won by two sets to zero and consequently won the League Cup. The players displayed their strengths and skills by controlling the match from start to finish and showing great teamwork and spirit.

Mr. Ibrahim Mukhtar, the Director of Sports and Recreation Activities Unit said that, “this win enhances the university’s sporting reputation. It’s part of the goal of the Sports Activities Unit to promote participation in various sports.” He congratulated the team and thanked them for their efforts. He also urged them to do even more to promote the name of their university and set a good model for their colleagues to follow. He also thanked Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Issa, the coach of the team, for his concerted efforts and wished everyone continued success.
