The Center of Excellence in Teaching and Learning at United Arab Emirates University, honored 10 faculty members, participants and contributors to the professional development program on Sunday 1st of May 2016. The event was held at the College of Information Technology building in Al Ain in the presence of Dr. Mohammed Albiali, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Scientific Affairs, a number of deans and faculty members at the University.
Dr. Mohammed Albiali stressed that the professional development program comes under the University’s agenda on the need to qualify academic and administrative staff in accordance with the criteria used for smart technological transfer. The goal is to ensure the quality of higher education and adopt the best learning methods. Dr. Albiali pointed to its role in making learning at UAE University an experience that will enrich the lives of students in and outside the University.
This program aims to improve the quality of teaching, learning and serve the academic and University environment by employing various seminars and workshops with more than 20 activities during the academic year (2015-2016). The seminars are run by faculty members in the professional development program. The following members were honored during the ceremony: Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Mekhlafi, College of Education; Dr. Sami Shaban and Dr. Omran Bakoush, College of Medicine and Health Sciences; Dr. Sami Ghnimi, College of Food And Agriculture; Dr. Shujun Jiang, College of Humanities and Social Sciences; and Engineer Mohammed Randeree, Dr. Hoda Amer, Tendai Charles, Dr. Robert Hodgdon and David Rumptz.
