The United Arab Emirates University signs a cooperation agreement with United Nations Development Program

Professor Mohamed Albaili, Vice Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University, signed a cooperation agreement with Mr. Frode Mauring, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program, to issue a report on human development in the United Arab Emirates in 2017. This project will be supervised by the UAEU Emirates Center for Public Policy and Leadership and will contribute to UAE Vision 2021 and Abu Dhabi Vision 2030.

Dr. Ateeq Jakka Al Mansoori, Director of the UAEU Center for Public Policy and Leadership, said that, the “project includes vital issues related to human development in the UAE and this report will be a neutral platform for human development indicators in education, health and manpower. Academics from the university will be working on this important project.”

A steering committee including representatives from every sectors in the country, such as the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Federal Demographic Structure Council, Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future and Abu Dhabi Education Council has been formed. It will oversee the project, review initial reports and facilitate the research team’s access to information and statistics.
