The College of Science at UAEU Collaborates with the UAE Space Agency

As part of the ongoing effort of the College of Science (COS) at UAEU to develop new specialized program, and to promote space science to attract qualified national cadres in this field, the college held a meeting with the UAE Space Agency on Wednesday Aug. 16th in the COS building. Professor Ahmed Murad, the Dean of COS, Engineer Mubarak Al Ahbabi, Senior Specialist System & Program, Dr. Omar Al Emam, Space Technology Advisor in the UAE Space Agency and a number of faculty member from the Physics Department at UAEU attended the meeting.
Prof. Murad stated, “The aim of this meeting is to enhance the strategic partnership with the UAE Space Agency to achieve one of the main national priorities of UAE of promoting space science and to attract national qualified cadre to study space science. The UAE Space Agency is a valued strategic partner with which UAEU meets with regularly to enhance continuous cooperation and launch initiative to raise awareness on space science.”
Engineer Al Ahbabi said that the UAE Space Agency supports UAEU’s efforts and initiatives, which aim to achieve the national goal of preparing future generations to lead the field of space science.
The meeting discussed the new space program proposal prepared by UAEU’s College of Science, which will enhance the UAEU vision to be an advanced research and scientific platform and to face the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution. It also discussed the initiatives, activities, and developing programs, which can contribute to discovering the hidden space-related talents in school students to attract them to study physics and space science at UAEU.
