A Research Team from UAEU and the University of New Mexico Visits the Emirates Space Agency

Enhancing the cooperation between the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) and the Emirates Space Agency, a joint scientific delegation from the College of Science at UAEU and the Center for Astrophysical Research and Technologies from the University of New Mexico visited the UAE Space Agency headquarters in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. The delegation included Dr. Ahmed Murad, Dean of the College of Science, and Professor Greg Taylor, Director of the Center for Astrophysical Research and Technologies at the University of New Mexico.

Dr. Murad said that the aim of this visit was to establish international partnerships in the field of space in order to enhance UAE's role and position in the space sector through conducting joint scientific research with international research centers. Applied research will help in developing the education of science, technology, engineering, mathematics and space. This will require recruiting graduates and qualified national cadres in the space sector and providing high quality support services.

During the visit, the UAEU delegation displayed the most prominent space research conducted by the College of Science. They also discussed ways of joint scientific and research cooperation with the Emirates Space Agency, within the framework of the UAEU strategic vision to develop scientific research to benefit the community at local and international levels.
