E-mail Account Fraud
Some users have reported receiving the following SPAM e-mail. This e-mail message appears to come from "info@live.com".
If you receive such a message, do not respond to it .
The UAEU IT Help Desk has received an increase in reports from UAEU students, faculty and staff of fraudulent email messages claiming to be sent from the University with the title Verify Your UAEU Email Account . These emails attempt to illegally capture sensitive information such as your personal information, username and password.
Should you receive such an email, do not provide your password, any sensitive information, or click on any link provided. Immediately delete this email from your computer and if possible, report it to the institution by phone. Never reply to an email which asks you to enter personal financial data or sensitive information. Legitimate institutions will not attempt to contact you in this manner.
We take this opportunity to remind you that you should never share your password(s) with anyone. If you have revealed your password by responding to the email, please change it immediately by logging into my.uaeu and clicking on My Account Link or contact helpdesk@uaeu.ac.ae for assistance.
