Email Account Fraud (New Version)
Another attempt to get UAEU customers to reveal their Password has been sent out this week (December 14), with the title "Dear uaeu.ac.ae User"
This email message appears to come from an unknown source, but tries to act as if it is originating from the UAE University.
If you receive such a message DO NOT RESPOND TO IT, DELETE IT IMMEDIATELY
The UAEU IT Help Desk has received an increase in reports from the UAEU students, faculty and staff of fraudulent email messages claiming to be sent from the university. The emails attempt to illegally capture sensitive information such as your personal information, username and password.
Should you receive such an email, do not provide your password, any sensitive information, or click on any link provided. Immediately delete this email from your computer and if possible, report it to the institution by phone. Never reply to an email which asks you to enter personal financial data or sensitive information. Legitimate institutions will not attempt to contact you in this matter.
We take this opportunity to remind you that you should never share your password(s) with anyone. If you have revealed your password by responding to the email, please change it immediately by logging into my.uaeu and clicking on My Account Link or contact helpdesk@uaeu.ac.ae for assistance.
