The NWC Consortium will be composed of the Core staff of the NWC, faculty members of UAE University, and other national and international researchers and experts.
All faculty members from the different colleges of UAE University are invited to join the NWC Consortium provided that they have the qualifications and experience and are willing to contribute to the activities of the NWC in one way or the other. As examples, faculty members of the Colleges of Humanities and Social Sciences may contribute to studies related to social impacts of water resources projects and other themes involving GIS and Remote Sensing. Faculty members of the College of Science may contribute to studies related to numerical and analytical simulations, water quality, terrestrial and marine habitats and environmental systems, waste water treatment, and geological systems. Faculty members from the College of Law may contribute to issues related to water policy, regulations and laws. Faculty members from the College of Food and Agriculture may contribute to studies related to irrigation and water conservation. Faculty members from the College of Business and Economics may contribute to studies related to statistical and stochastic analysis of events, water economics and water pricing. Faculty members from the College of Education may also initiate programs related to public awareness and water education. Faculty members from the College of Engineering can contribute to all studies related to water resources assessment, development and conservation and desalination and water treatment processes. Faculty members of the College of IT may contribute to the development of water resources database and other issues related to data analytics and artificial intelligence in water systems. Finally, faculty members of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences may contribute to research projects addressing the relationship between water and health. As such, the vast majority of the faculty members of UAE University may join the NWC Consortium and contribute to the activities of the NWC.
Based on their background, qualifications and experience, national and international faculty, professionals, researchers and experts in the various fields related to water resources will be invited to join the NWC Consortium. To that end, distinguished professionals from local authorities such as the Environmental Agency of Abu Dhabi (EAD), Ministry of Energy and Industry, Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, Abu Dhabi Electricity and Water Authority, Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Abu Dhabi Municipality, Al Ain Municipality, and other concerned authorities will be invited to join the Consortium. International experts and professionals from well-known universities, institutions, and authorities will also be selected and invited to join the NWC Consortium.
