The Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Enrollment at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) organized the individual colleges’ annual induction on the morning of Monday 31^st August, 2015 in the Great Hall of the Al Ain campus. The induction is targeted at new students and will run for two days (one for female students and the other male students). Colleges and departments will deliver presentations about each specific major, its relevance and its contribution to the national labor market.

Dr. Ali Al Kaabi, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Enrollment, said that was an important event. It is organized on an annual basis because it is important to guide students in the direction when it comes to choosing a major that is commensurate with their abilities. As students begin the transition from secondary school to university it is vital that the university administration direct and students so that they will choose wisely and better serve the country and the needs of national labor market in the future.

Dr. Al Kaabi added that the university administration adds to the induction program every year to renew and revamp the event. This year the participation of different university departments in organizing the showcase was new. The Media and Communication Department and the Center for Career Placement and Alumni as well as the General Supervisor for female students and UAE graduates all participated in the organizing process presented their experiences to the new students.

The students benefited from their visit to the induction and considered it a good opportunity to learn about the university and gather information about the various colleges and departments before choosing their respective majors.
