Dr. Alia Al Bawardi and Dr. Saeeda Al Marzooqi, professors in the College of Medicine at the United Arab Emirates University published a book entitled ‘Al Hudhud’ about what studying medicine involves. It also has information about graduate studies.

Dr. Al Marzooqi, Chair of the Department of Pathology in the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, said that, “this book tells students about specializing in medicine also how to prepare for graduate school”.

Dr. Al Bawardi, an assistant professor in the same department pointed out that the title was inspired by the story of the hoopoe bird and the Prophet Sulaiman. In the story the bird has similar ethics and principles to a successful doctor.

The book has been released in English to reach a larger readership worldwide and was published by Amjad Publishing in Jordan.
