the College of Food and Agriculture gifts its agricultural and fish products to the Emirates Red Crescent

Under the slogan “Seeds yield good food”,
The College of Food and Agriculture at the United Arab Emirates University University organized the “Bithrat Ataa tuthmer Khairan” initiative, on Tuesday 27th of September 2016. This was attended by a number of dignatories, including his Excellency, Salem Al Rayes Al Ameri, director of the Al Ain branch of the Red Crescent.
This initiative aims to support voluntary work, in keeping with Islamic values, and emphasizes social solidarity at both a regional and global level. Dr. Aisha Abushelaibi stressed the importance of student participation in this initiative, and added: "by organizing such initiatives, the College of Food and Agriculture is committed to preparing students capable of excellence, so as to further develop the individual, the environment, and society as a whole."
It is noteworthy that the total donation made by the College amounted to about 450 kilos of fish. This will be sent directly to the needy in UAE, in cooperation with the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, to provide continuing humanitarian assistance to various groups in the community.
