Fourth International Date Palm Conference

Introduction

Under the leadership of H.H. President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahayan, the UAEU Date Palm Research & Development Programme continues its efforts to increase agricultural productivity and efficiency. These efforts are aimed at improving the Date Palm industry and at transforming the nature of the UAE desert itself.

The Fourth International Date Palm Conference (details below) illustrates the special attention and priority awarded to this vital economic sector by His Highness. 

The present conference is the fourth one in a series of international conferences organized by the UAEU during the last 11 years. Previous conferences were held on 8 - 10 March 1998, 25-27 March 2001, and 19-21 February 2006.

Date palm scientists, researchers, specialists, and senior officials from around the world will use the conference as a vehicle to exchange knowledge, expertise and experience. 

Official Ministers of Agriculture from GCC member states will be invited to attend the conference in order to share knowledge and offer recommendations and insights.
