New forms of information and communication technologies have put new-knowledge system ‘in a hard dynamic competition’, but universities, especially in this part of the world, are still the primary source for producing innovative knowledge.
We are proud to claim that UAE University has established a strong research base and its efforts in creating awareness among the community about the long-term economic implications and benefits of research are bearing fruits. The testimony is our achievements in internal as well as in collaborative research. We are also gradually attracting R&D funding from business and industry and producing new studies for nation’s benefit.
Following the guidelines given by H. E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, The Chancellor of UAE University, we are striving for a much higher degree of research intensity and for an expanded research capacity to help meet national development objectives.
The Research Affairs has developed an interaction mechanism to make available the expertise of our researchers to the industrial and societal sectors. We are also streamlining our efforts to develop and strengthen the national innovation system and respond to highly competitive forces of globalization.
