Research

One of the great strengths of UAEU is its ability to address the significant challenges that face today's modern United Arab Emirates through the research activities of its faculty. Research at UAEU has contributed significantly to the development of many areas in the UAE ranging from the development of water resources, petroleum resources, solar and other forms of renewable energy,  medical developments as well in the development of significant economic activities.

Since the establishment of UAEU its faculty have engaged in research activities that have grown to the level where this university is now ranked as the Number 1 Research University in the GCC Countries, the Number 2 Research University in the Arab World, the Number 9 Research University in the Muslim World and the Number 384 in the Research Universities of the World.

In the last ten years UAEU Faculty members have been granted in excess of 230 million AED in Research Funds.

Chancellor Nahayan Mubarak Al Nahayan declared in 2008 that the major goal of UAEU was to become a major research university. Thus research activities at UAEU have assumed a central role.
