Research Grants
Research Affairs provides funds to approved research projects and strict deadlines are maintained for yearly submission of research proposals. Available funding alternatives are individual, interdisciplinary, and GCC cooperative research projects.
Due to the current development and trends of international research work, which is mainly based on interaction and joint activities, collaborative efforts are encouraged among faculty members, groups within large departments, various departments and colleges.
The Research Affairs, during the last ten years, has developed and strengthened ties with major institutions and industries, both in private and public sectors. To date more than 350 externally funded projects were executed in association with the national and international organizations.
The Research Affairs was successful in establishing strong partnership with Government ministries and Emirati companies in public and private sectors to provide valuable services in studying crucial problems faced by the UAE community. The collaborative projects undertaken with government and other organizations were mostly related to oil and gas, wastewater, healthcare, environment, agricultural productivity, traffic safety, rehabilitation of concrete structures and structural analysis and many other issues important to the UAE.
A good research network was also established with some major international companies from countries like Japan, the USA, the UK, Australia, France, Germany, Korea, Singapore, Sudan, Qatar and Oman. In addition, the partnerships were also developed with many leading universities and research centers of the world and the region.
