Banner Upgrade
This project was part of UITS commitment to have the latest technologies and keep up with the industry standards.
UITS in coordination with the data custodians and SG department took the initiative to upgrade Banner HR, Finance and
SIS to the latest 8.x version. This upgrade ensures that moving the next generation of Banner XE/9 will be just one step
forward and the transition will be relatively smooth. Banner has been upgraded from 8.3 to 8.5 (general). The upgrade
provides important bug fixes, enhancements to existing functionalities of ERP. The attractive and easy to use end user
interface (Self Service Banner) is one of the most important enhancements.
Implement ePayment of
Application Fee
The existing ePayment system provides the facility
for Masters and PhD students with the ability to pay
their admission fee in the form of cash to a certain
account and then bring the receipt to the registration
department as an evidence of the payment which is
quite cumbersome and time consuming process. It
was decided to enhance the system to provide a more
convenient way of payment and save time for both the
students and the department. Therefore, the online
admission application system has been enhanced to
include an easier and more convenient way of paying
application fee by integrating the system to an online
secured payment gateway so that the applicants will
be able to pay their fee online using their credit card.
The enhanced system also provides the applicants with
full details of the payment transaction for their future
reference.
