which can be used to satisfy any regulatory or compliance requests while following the applicable country laws.
In modern times, securing the information for users is a key aspect of achieving the strategic targets. Secure Email
communication is one of the desired medium and this is always considered very important by UITS. As per our continuous
improvement strategy, UITS successfully upgraded the existing email security infrastructure with a more secure, scalable
and high performance one.

EMC Source One Email Archiving Solution
EMC Source One is an email archiving solution which integrates itself with Microsoft Exchange 2010 and helps in managing
user emails.
Features:
Every employee at U.A.E University is required to have their own email with a dedicated amount of storage (quota). As
the university expands and more students, staff and faculty join, the pressure on the email (exchange) system increases.
Source One mitigates this load by moving older emails from Exchange to its own dedicated storage and placing just a link
in exchange. This approach provides us with several advantages. First, archiving older emails considerably reduces the size
of the exchange database, which not only reduces storage requirements but at the same time reduces backup costs as well.
Emails in Source One are replicated to an off-site location and hence do not require any backup.
Apart from providing an additional layer of security, this archiving solution also stores emails very intelligently. It checks
every email before it archives to make sure that there are no duplicate emails or attachments. If two emails have the same
attachment, it only saves the attachment once and uses pointers for the other email. This feature is especially useful when
archiving large broadcasts.
