Freedom of interactivity via Windows 8 Deployment in UAEU classrooms
Windows 8 delivers an immersive teaching and learning experience that blends work and play and makes education
more interactive. UITS has successfully converted whole new campus classroom SMART boards into a more interactive
presentation technology. Previously it had many limitations for presenters to administrate and control the presentation
within limited software boundaries and many other dependencies. With the new recent changes the interactive SMART
boards will work as a normal desktop along with all touch features. Instead of having a controlled environment faculty
members are able to use the full functionality of windows operating system along with access to all needed resources and
customization with a simple touch.
Our faculty members experienced a great benefit from these changes and we experienced better satisfaction and reduced
support calls. A continuous enhancement and rapid support plan is on the way to make the classroom experience more
interactive and innovative for our valuable students and faculty members.
Interpretation & discussion system
UITS recently successfully did an implementation of Language translation and discussion system in the Management Board
room in Crescent building. The system is fully wireless with the ability to support 2 languages and has 30 audience capacity.
The interpreter translates the chair person’s speech in the preferred language which will be audible by the delegates.The
chairman’s discussion unit has the feature of controlling the delagates units as well. It has an added feature of recording
the translation with a special recording software which benefits any individual who missed to attend a meeting can listen
the session later on.
