Airplay in UAEU classrooms
Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (MSCCM 2012)
Thousands of mobile and tablet devices are now part of UAEU learning environment and became a core source of
teaching and learning to be more engaged and collaborative. Considering the increasing demand of using mobile
devices to wirelessly playback content such music, movies and presentations on SMART interactive boards and larger
screens, we have successfully converted more than 700 classrooms within UAEU new campus to be able to accommodate
such requirements. Through a technology called Airplay faculty and students can connect their iPads wirelessly and
stream any content to the classroom projection system. Airplay allows faculty the freedom to circulate among the
students while controlling all aspects of their presentation.
UITS recently updated its System Center Configuration manager solution to the latest version SCCM 2012, the systems
management product fromMicrosoft, is a comprehensive management solution for computer systems using Microsoft
Windows operating systems. With Configuration Manager, UITS proactively manages the entire life cycle of all Windows-
powered devices. This includes deploying and maintaining systems and software, responding to security threats,
distributing settings, and analyzing inventory data.
