Transportation System Integration
UAEU Enterprise Sharepoint Portal
The objective of this initiative is to provide a centrally hosted system with the capability to manage, maintain and track
university vehicles. This is important because the university fleet comprises of different types of vehicles including but
not limited to cars, buses, golf carts etc.
The system provides students with the capability to book their seats in their designated buses. The system is an off the
shelf systems with Banner integration for authoritative data.
This is another major initiative taken by UITS towards
providing state of the art services to staff, students and
faculties. We have replaced the old portal with microsoft
sharepoint portal the fact it provides far more features and
capabilities including comprehensive content management,
enterprise search, shared business processes and information
sharing facilitation. The new portal is a one stop shop for all
IT services 24/7 from anytime/anywhere. Now the users enjoy
an easy to use portal with single sign on facility.
Enhancement to the Finance
Operation Systems
The existing finance systems like Petty Cash, Overtime, Travel,
& Student Part Time Payment systems have been further
enhanced to provide additional information for auditing.
Student Catering Accounting
System
The Food Accounting System is also developed in house
replacing an off the shelf system which was not as flexible
as it was required. This system can help Food Services
Department to manage and monitor the process of
distributing meals to students in university cafeterias.
The new system will help in automating the process of
distributing meals, recording transactions in a central
location, and produce reports as and when required. This
system will also allow Food Services Department to evaluate
current services, make more accurate projections of costs,
and provide students with better services in the future.
