His Excellency Dr. Ali Rashid Al Noaimi, Vice Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), met His Excellency Rashid Atteeq Al Hameli, Director General of the Social Welfare and Minor Affairs Foundation to discuss subjects of common interest between the two institutions and to promote cooperation and development in various fields, including social services and topics related to training, the exchange of experiences and information. The meeting was attended by Professor Reyadh Almehaideb, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies.

Dr. Al Noaimi said that UAEU welcomes all forms of cooperation with a variety of institutions as this has many positive outcomes for all parties concerned. As academic life cannot be separated from the surrounding environment, its role goes beyond the boundaries of academic education and enters into various other aspects of life. This, in turn, has inspired His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chancellor of UAEU, to formulate an overall vision of a truly cohesive society with cooperative institutions and individuals.

Dr. Al Noaimi mentioned that a meeting had been held between a delegation from the Social Welfare and Minor Affairs Foundation and a delegation from UAEU to discuss a common agenda and to prepare a joint Memorandum of Understanding between the two partners, focusing on cooperation in education, research, development, technical and administrative consultations and educational training programs, as well as developing joint plans to organize scientific conferences and other activities related to training, work programs and organizing the continuing education of staff.

His Excellency Rashid Ateeq Al Hameli commended the role played by UAEU. He described how this meeting helped to better serve community groups by offering technical progress and strong programs to raise the professional abilities of staff and spread institutional awareness, and is also fully in line with the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030.
