Professor Faeqa Helal, Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University’s Finance and Administrative Affairs Department (Secretary-General), honored the winners of the “Come and Lose Weight” contest,organized by the Student Activities Section of the Student Affairs and Enrollment Section. This ceremony was held on Monday, 16/2/2015, in the theater of the crescent building at UAEU.

Professor Helal congratulated the students who won the prizes and thanked all the organizers and participants in this annual contest, which is aimed at establishing a culture of physical health and fitness among university students.

The Secretary-General pointed out the support of the university administration for such initiatives. These initiatives help students to develop themselves and also encourages them to follow a healthy lifestyle. This is especially important as UAEU boasts world-class sports facilities, supervised by specialist trainers.

She also thanked all the strategic partners who contributed to the success of this contest. This included Dr. Nada Zuheir Al Adeeb, Director of the Community Nutrition Department at Tawam Hospital, who supervised the 12 week contest. She, in turn, congratulated the winning students who were Rahmeh Ali Al Rashed in first place, Amneh Rashid Al Habsi in second and Mariam Ahmed Al Thaheri who was third.
