UAEU Organized an Open Meeting for Secondary School Vocational Counselors in Order to Encourage Male Students to Attend University

The Admissions and Registration Deanship of the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) organized an open meeting for vocational counselors from secondary schools on Sunday 15th March, 2015. It was held on campus and attended by counselors, college professors and public education counselors.
Mr. Saud Al Amri, Director of the Admissions and Registration Deanship, talked about the importance of this open day in strengthening communications between the university and boys’ schools. It can give these students a clearer picture of UAEU’s disciplines, services and career opportunities after graduation. He noted the importance of students understanding the various fields of education available at the university. This communication enhances enrolment at UAEU and contributes to meeting the needs of the labor market.
Professor Amna Al Bloushi, Director of the Admissions, stressed that this meeting was aimed at raising the enrolment of young men in the various programs offered by the university, especially those dealing with innovation and scientific research. She pointed out the various disciplines offered by the colleges at UAEU and the career opportunities for each specialization after graduation.
The orientation meeting was divided into presentations by each college; a presentation on the Academic Success Program, and a presentation by the Graduate Affairs Department. Finally, the vocational counselors were escorted on a tour of the university.
