The United Arab Emirates University organizes an Open Day for Graduate Studies

The College of Graduate Studies at the United Arab Emirates University organized an open day for graduate studies on Tuesday 8th of March 2016 in the Great Hall in the Crescent Building. It was aimed at attracting students into Master's and Doctoral programs. It was held in the presence of Professor Ghaleb Al Hadrami, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies, Dr. Nagi Wakim, Dean of the College of Graduate Studies, deans of many colleges, faculty, staff, students and and a group of faculty, staff, students and visitors.
The Ministry of Education – Higher Education Affairs; the Juvenile Welfare Centre (part of the Ministry of the Interior); the National Rehabilitation Centre; the Enrollment Deanship/ Admissions Department and other university faculties were all involved.
Professor Al Hadrami said that, “we aim to introduce students to graduate and Doctoral programs and show them the programs and majors offered by the university. There are full scholarship programs and partial grants. In addition we will inform them of the innovations and research conducted by Master’s and Doctoral students and also introduce our program coordinators. This is part of UAEU’s vision of achieving excellence in research and fulfilling the needs of the UAE labor market.”
A number of research projects by graduate students were presented. These included 3D glasses; a robot demonstration; drones and play station activities. The students displayed posters with summaries of their research projects and the programs offered by the various colleges and, especially, the College of Graduate Studies.
