Undergraduate Admissions
Admission to the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) based on relevant student academic preparation and performance levels, and the instructional capacities of academic programs. Applicants eligibility for admission is based on the policy announced by UAEU annually, with the guidelines for each of the below groups:
- United Arab Emirates Citizens and Children of National Mothers and High school students from previous years.

Direct Admission Conditions
- Completion of Grade 12 Certificate, or its equivalent, no more than three years prior to the date of admission application.
- A score of (1250) in the English EmSAT or its equivalent in IELTS - Academic (5.5), or TOEFL ITP (525)/ IBT (70).
- Applicants graduated from private schools that do not follow the government curriculum and those with high school certificates issued from outside UAE should obtain equivalency for their High School Certificate from UAE Ministry of Education.
- Applicants should not have been expelled from any other institution for academic or disciplinary reasons.
- Students admitted to the University may earn advanced standing credit for academic work during high school such as the Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), General Certificate of Education (GCE), or any other programs approved by the University.
- Students shall be admitted to UAE University on competitive basis and shall be assigned provisionally to the Colleges in accordance with the instructional capacity available in each College. Satisfying the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission to UAE University.
- Applicants seeking second undergraduate bachelor s degree must submit a transcript from accredited institution with minimum GPA of 2.5 (the transcript must be mailed directly to the University admission office) along with Grade 12 Certificate. The three years condition stated in item (1) does not apply for this type of application.
- Students who do not achieve the college s admission terms and conditions within the first semester will be placed into a college appropriate to the student s academic qualifications.

Conditional Admission Conditions
- Applicants with EmSAT English score of (1100 to 1225), or its equivalent, shall be conditionally admitted to the University. Students will not be able to register for credit courses unless they achieve the required score in the University entry English Test.
- International students who do not have proof of the English proficiency score are required to take the University entry English Test. Students will not be able to register for credit courses unless they achieve the required score in this test.
- International students who satisfy English proficiency requirements but are missing required supporting documents and/or documents attestation shall be conditionally admitted for one academic semester to complete/attest the admission documents. Students shall be allowed to register for credit courses during this period.
Special Considerations
- Admission to the Doctor of Medicine Program in the College of Medicine and Health Sciences is limited to UAE nationals and children of Emirati mothers.
- Children of the faculty members and employees at UAE University are admitted to the University based on their academic achievements and in line with the admission policies and procedures.
- A native English-speaking applicant who has completed high schools in an English-medium school and in a country where English is the official language is exempted from the English admission requirements. Official Native English Speaking Countries
- Non-Arabic speaking applicants are exempted from the Arabic language requirement if enrolled in programs that are offered fully in English.
- A student enrolled in an accredited higher education institution may apply for transfer to the University in accordance with the policies and procedures approved by the University.
Admission Requirements per College
** Admission to the College of Medicine and Health Sciences (Bachelors of Medicine) is limited to UAE nationals and children of Emirati mothers only
- A minimum score of (900) in EmSAT Arabic, or its equivalent*.
- A minimum Score of (900) in EmSAT Mathematics, or its equivalent*.
- A minimum Score of (900) in two of the three EmSAT science subjects Physics, Chemistry or Biology, or its equivalent*.
- In case the above scores are not available, candidates will need to pass the CMHS admission (MCQ) exam, which includes: Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics. Priority will be given to the candidates who have EmSAT.
- Passing the Multiple Mini Interview (MMI).
- A minimum score of (900) in EmSAT Arabic, or its equivalent*.
- A minimum score of (900) in EmSAT Mathematics, or its equivalent*.
- A minimum score of (900) in EmSAT Chemistry or Biology or Physics, or its equivalent*.
- A minimum score of (900) in EmSAT Arabic, or its equivalent*.
- A minimum score of (1100) in EmSAT Mathematics, or its equivalent*.
- A minimum score of (900) in EmSAT Physics or Chemistry, or its equivalent*.
- A minimum score of (900) in EmSAT Arabic, or its equivalent*.
- A minimum score of (1100) in EmSAT Mathematics, or its equivalent*.

** Applicants who do not have the required EmSAT subject(s) score must pass the University placement test(s).
Important Dates
Applicants must submit their application during the application period announced on the Ministry of Education s official website and the university s website as follows:
- First Academic Semester: May, June and July.
- Second Academic Semester: September, October and November.
