College of Humanities and Social Sciences at United Arab Emirates University held its third meeting of the Advisory Board

The office of the Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at UAE University held, the third meeting of the Advisory Board of the College on Tuesday 17/5/2016.  It was held in the presence of Dr. Saif Al Qaydi, Dean of the College on campus in Al Ain City, and his Excellency Jasem Mohammed Al Darmaki, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, and a number of members of the Advisory Board.

Dr. Saif Al Qaydi welcomed the attendees and spoke about the achievements of the College during the academic year 2015/2016.  He discussed the ideas proposed for the next strategic plan and the approaches to develop the academic programs.  Included in this were the programs of study plans and proposed language disorders, in addition to highlighting the contributions of students abroad.  The countries visited   included Kuwait, Germany and Scotland. The Council also discussed the participation of students in scientific research and summer internship positions.  The ceremony also honored organizations for their contributions to local and global developments.

During the meeting the challenges facing the College, and proposed solutions for them, were discussed. In addition, new programs and the current development mechanism of current programs were also discussed. The meeting comes as a confirmation of the vision of UAE University that is focused on achieving advanced rankings for the State in the various sectors. The university seeks to advance and support leadership and excellence in higher education at the regional and global levels, as well as to meet the needs of the labor market in required competencies.

The Advisory Board consists of his Excellency Jasem Mohammed Al Darmaki, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority; his Excellency Sharif Habib Al Awadi, Director General of Fujairah Free Zone Authority; his Excellency Mr. Majid Sultan Al Ali, Executive Director of Technical Affairs at the National Bureau of Statistics; his Excellency Khaled Saleh Al Malihi, CEO of Bayanat for Mapping & Surveying Services; his Excellency Mr. Asad Salem Al Yamahi, Senior Manager of Public Relations; his Excellency Colonel Pilot Ali Mohammad of the Al Shahi Space Reconnaissance Center; his Excellency Mr. Mohamed Al Bastaki, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry for Community Affairs; and his Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, Cultural Adviser to the Government of Dubai.
