His Excellency Dr. Ali Rashid Al Noaimi, Chancellor of UAEU, stressed that the UAE State is a unique model in promoting tolerance and that this has been achieved under the wise leadership of His Highness, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nayan, President of the State. This tolerance is characterized by values of multiculturalism and openness to others without discrimination or hatred. His Excellency stressed that the State has made great efforts over the years to promote these values in the community, and that this is an integral part of the nature of the UAE people and is recognized worldwide.

His Excellency explained that UAEU is always proactive in spreading the values of tolerance in its diverse community, especially since this value is essential for progress and development. Accordingly, the University has been working to strengthen the sense of belonging students and academic staff have, both to the institution and to the country. He added that this day, which falls on 16^th November of each year, comes to support this mission of tolerance.

His Excellency also remarked that the University has its own direct experience in spreading tolerance, given that there are more than 65 nationalities in the University community, from students, faculty and administrators, all living harmoniously and reflecting the State's cultural progress. His Excellency, the Chancellor, stressed that the world celebrates an International Day of Tolerance, and that the UAE nation celebrates the harmony between more than 200 different nationalities on its land in peace and mutual respect.
