UAEU Students Describe their Reading Experiences

The Student Activities Department at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) organized a discussion – ‘Flashes that Inspired Me’ - on Tuesday, 18th October, 2016. Dr. Mariam Al Suwaidi, Head of the Arabic Department, and a number of students were in attendance. The title of the session was inspired by the book ‘Flashes of Wisdom’ by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoom.
Dr. Mariam Al Jarahi, a coordinator in the Student Activities Department, explained that such discussions encouraged students to share their reading experiences with others and could help guide the reading habits of newer students.
Dr. Al Suwaidi praised UAEU’s reading initiatives that were aimed at enhancing knowledge and developing an enjoyable learning environment. The initiatives hosted by UAEU will help to prepare a knowledgeable generation of future leaders.
Nouf Al Memari led a session, which included a talk by Aysha Al Kaabi on her experience of publishing her ‘A Raining Cloud.’ She also discussed the importance of reading for personal development and for enhancing creativity and innovation.
