UAEU signs MoU with Dubai Public Policy Research Centre

The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dubai Public Policy Research Centre B huth on 18th Dec 2017 at university campus in Al-Ain. The MoU was signed by Professor Hassan Alnaboodah, Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS), UAEU, and Mr. Mohammed Baharoon, General Director, Dubai Public Policy Research Centre. It aims to enhance the collaboration between the two parties in promoting relationships between UAE Academic and Research Institutions and involving CHSS students in public policy-making research. As part of the agreement, UAEU graduates will have internship at the centre, workshops will be held for them, and they will have the opportunity to involve in the centre s research on public policy development and public opinion survey.
Professor Alnaboodah stressed the importance of creating a liaison between academic institutions and research centres and the role of these centres in giving young researchers the chance to gain experience and employ it in serving their society. Mr. Baharoon explained that the UAE strategy supports encouraging youth to engage in the public policy making process, through opening avenues for youth to involve in research on decision-making and developing public policy proposals.
This will help them speak their minds whilst transforming their ideas and ambitions into policy proposals to enhance the UAE development process. Having been established in 2002, the Dubai Public Policy Research Centre is a national centre that proposes policy proposals and government s initiatives, promoting the UAE development with regard to the national identity, youth policy and government development.
