UAEU trains Environment Agency Engineers

The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) offered a number of workshop and training courses for engineers from the Environment Agency-Abu Dhabi, with the aim of introducing them to the latest scientific methods of testing underground water resources and ways of maintaining it using GIS and digital modeling.

Dr. Mohsen Sherif, Director of UAEU National Water Center, explained that holding these series of workshop and training courses reflects that the UAEU is keen on contributing to building a national cadre capable of dealing with different environmental challenges. The UAEU courses also highlights the importance of employing modern sciences in innovating new solutions to face future challenges.

The UAEU has established a number of research centers to develop knowledge and technologies through conducting scientific research and enhancing innovation, renewable energy, food security and disease control. These research centers also introduce students and researchers to the best methods of using natural resources and maintaining them to achieve sustainable development.
