UAEU celebrates the World Heritage Day

The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) organized various activities on the occasion of the World Heritage Day which marks the 18th April with the participation of 60 communities.
UAEU students participating in the event performed different folklore shows, heritage painting and models, music and fashion shows. They also served traditional food and organized competitions. The National Archive of the Ministry of Presidential Affaires organized a photo exhibition of the Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, showcasing the friendships between the UAE and other Arab and world countries.
Professor Hassan AlNaboodah, Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences explained that the World Heritage Day is an opportunity to share a nation’s unique cultural experience with other cultures. He commended the national efforts of different institutions to preserve heritage in order to enhance the national pride among generations. Professor AlNaboodah stressed UAEU’s commitment to promote cultural diversity and display features of the heritage and culture of UAE and other countries.
On the sideline of the event, a number of students recited pieces of poetry that impressed the attendees. The students participating in the literary competition “In Love with Zayed’ in the categories of poetry, short stories and theatre were honored.
