As part of the initiatives for the Year of Zayed, the College of Science at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) has launched the Year of Zayed Permanent Exhibition at the college in the presence of Professor Ahmed Murad, Dean of the College of Science, and a number of UAEU leaders and officials.
‘Launching the Year of Zayed Permanent Exhibition aims to commemorate the late Sheikh Zayed, through showcasing photos of the achievements he has accomplished regionally and globally. It also aims to highlight his role and consolidate his unique status at the local, regional and international levels. The exhibition will be a destination to be visited by UAEU community and guests’, explained Professor Murad.
The exhibition which will be open for guests throughout the Year of Zayed 2018, includes a pavilion named ‘Zayed and UAEU’ that shows how the idea of establishing the university was created in the mind of the late Sheikh Zayed , and how he inspected the architectural designs of the university’s buildings and attended the inauguration of the university. This corner demonstrates how keen he was on graduating batches of graduates and highlights the importance he placed on the educational process and the development of UAEU since its inception.
The exhibition also features a Zayed Library corner, displaying the biography of the late Sheikh Zayed, the years he was ruling the country and his pursue to unite the UAE. This part of the exhibition also incorporates the most significant books written on the achievements of the late Sheikh Zayed and his accomplishments in establishing the UAE, illustrating his efforts to consolidate the principles of the UAE’s development at the local, regional and international levels.
